One of the best things about Las Vegas is that hotels do just about anything to get you spending cash inside their doors. They spare no expense in creating extravagant displays, exquisite art installations and even breathtaking live shows. The best part: many of the best attractions in Las Vegas are completely free! Here’s a list of some of our top picks of free things to do in Las Vegas.

Arguably the Best Attraction is Las Vegas, The Dancing Fountains of Bellagio

Dancing Waters at Bellagio.  Requiring no introduction, this delicate interplay of water, light, and sound is free to anyone walking by. It’s easily worth two visits during any trip: once during the day, and again in romantic evening light. More info

Fountains & Fine Art at CityCenter. CityCenter in Las Vegas showcases contemporary artists. The artwork is scattered throughout the complex in public areas, so finding the pieces can be something of a scavenger hunt. More info

Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

Free Gaming Lessons. Casinos offer free gaming lessons to gamers who are too shy to step up to the tables. Ask the front desk at your hotel for lesson times.

A leisurely stroll through The Venetian Shoppes is a budget-friendly way to check out the winding indoor canals.

Walking the Gondola Canals at the Venetian. Sure, you can shell out for a boat ride if you want, but if you’re looking to save some money, why not just enjoy the canals on foot? More info

Ethel M. Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden Tour. Taking a walk through the factory and gardens won’t cost you a penny, though you’ll be hard pressed not to buy a treat or two before you’re done. More info

Sunset Stampede at Sam’s Town. Everything’s bigger and better in Las Vegas. Think you’re going for a simple stroll in a park? Think again! Instead, enjoy a chronicle of the “Western pioneer experience.” More info

Hiking surrounding areas. You might not think of the “great outdoors” when you think of Vegas, but the area offers amazing trails, some of which are only 20 minutes from the city. Join up with the VegasHikers on one of their frequent treks, and as a bonus, burn off some of those buffet calories. More info

Pinball Hall of Fame. Admission to this pinball “museum” is free, but don’t be surprised if the working machines get you to part with some hard-earned quarters. Just console yourself with the knowledge that it’s for a good cause. More info

Eat. While food isn’t exactly “free” in Vegas, you can get complimentary meals just for booking certain deals at the hotels. Check out our hotel deals page and check the “dining” or “buffet” perks under the filter to find deals that include free eats at some of the city’s best spots.
